Next Generation Treatments for Sexual Dysfunction
Although it is not a popular topic to discuss, sexual dysfunction (a.k.a Psychosexual Dysfunction) is a very common condition that affects millions of men and women and can significantly impair the quality of one’s sex life, self-esteem, and relationships. Sexual dysfunction impacts men and women differently; however, it is generally defined as the inability to experience sexual arousal or sexual satisfaction as a result of a physical disorder and/or psychological problems.
Fortunately, innovations in the field of platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy have led to a revolutionary breakthrough in the treatment of sexual dysfunction. PRP’s therapeutic uses in skin rejuvenation (i.e. ‘Vampire Facelift®”) fueled the development of two non-invasive sexual dysfunction treatments:
Although they are both non-invasive procedures, the O-Shot® and the P-Shot® require proper training to learn the meticulous techniques necessary to achieve a safe and successful outcome. If performed incorrectly, or by a physician who has not been trained and approved to perform these shots, the results could be ineffective and lead to potentially dangerous complications.
As you will see on http://www.priapusshot.com/members/directory/ and http://oshot.info/members/directory/, Dr. Stephen Rath, Founder and Medical Director of Fusion Medical Spa, is one of an elite subset of physicians who has undergone the necessary training and is licensed to administer the O-Shot® and the P-Shot®. In the private, discreet environment of the our pristine facility in Ruidoso, New Mexico, Dr. Rath has utilized the O-Shot® and the P-Shot® to help many patients achieve a healthier, fuller, and more enjoyable sex life without invasive surgery.
The O-SHOT® For Women
Female sexual dysfunction can occur at any phase of life (although it is more common in post-menopausal women) and it impacts each woman differently. The most common forms of female sexual dysfunction are:
- Sexual arousal disorder: patients can still experience desire for sex, but struggle to become aroused or maintain arousal during sexual activity
- Low sexual desire: lack of sex drive, diminished libido
- Sexual pain disorder (dyspareunia): patients experience discomfort during vaginal contact and/or sexual stimulation
- Orgasmic disorder: recurrent difficulty achieving orgasm even after experiencing sexual arousal and stimulation
The O-Shot® is an outpatient procedure that takes approximately 10 minutes and involves the following steps:
- A topical numbing cream is applied to the vagina and the arm
- Blood is drawn from the arm (similar to a typical blood test)
- The blood is placed into a centrifuge to isolate the platelet rich plasma (PRP), which contains the growth factors necessary to stimulate the growth of new, healthy vaginal tissue
- The PRP is injected into the upper vagina and clitoris using a very thin needle (these areas have been numbed so the patient will feel no discomfort during the injection)
- After being injected into crucial areas of the vagina and clitoris, the regeneration of healthy cells begins and the vaginal tissue is gradually revitalized and rejuvenated
Patients have reported the following benefits after O-Shot® treatments:
- Increased sexual desire
- Heightened sensitivity and arousal from clitoral stimulation
- Tighter vaginal skin and vaginal opening (introitus)
- Rejuvenation of the vaginal lips (vulva)
- Stronger and more frequent orgasms
- Increased ability to have a vaginal orgasm
- Reduced discomfort during intercourse for those women suffering from dyspareunia (pain during intercourse)
- Decreased urinary incontinence
- Reduction in vaginal dryness , enhanced vaginal lubrication
- Can be used to improve symptoms associated with medical conditions such as: vulvodynia, interstitial cystitis, uterine prolapse, and vaginismus
The PRIAPUS SHOT® For Men
As with female sexual dysfunction, male sexual dysfunction can present in different ways—the most common manifestations are as follows:
- Erectile impotence: inability to sustain an erection
- Inhibited male orgasm (ejaculatory impotence): inability to achieve orgasm inside the woman’s vagina, although he may achieve orgasm via other methods
- Premature ejaculation: ejaculation occurs before or immediately after entering the vagina
Patients have been astounded by the benefits of the P-Shot®, which can include:
- Immediate enlargement of the penis: approximately 10-20% increase in length and girth
- Straightening and strengthening of the penis
- Heightened circulation within the penis for a healthier, stronger orgasm
- Can be used as a supplement to boost the effects of other therapies (i.e. Viagra, Cialis)
- Increase in pleasure and sensation during intercourse
- Can be used to treat erectile dysfunction resulting from medical conditions such as Peyronie’s disease and prostate cancer
- The Priapus-Shot® utilizes your body’s own fluids, which means there is no risk of allergic reaction
- There is no lumpiness and minimal pain associated with this technique
The P-Shot® procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis and involves the following steps:
- A numbing cream (lidocaine) is applied to the penis.
- Blood is drawn from the arm (similar to a typical blood test)
- The blood is transferred to a centrifuge so the platelets can be isolated and transferred to a separate test tube where they can now be classified as platelet rich plasma
- A few drops of calcium chloride solution are added to the platelet rich plasma to initiate their wound healing response
- The platelets release growth factors into the liquid of the tube
- The PRP liquid is placed into a syringe and injected into the penis with a tiny needle, using a technique that allows for optimal distribution of the PRP growth factors
